Blue Bikini

Blue Bikini is a lovely daughter of Winged Love who we are delighted to have on the team. She is leased from her owner/breeder, Louise Kemble and was bred and raised locally at The Elms Stud near Northampton.

         She has a wonderful pedigree. She is out of  Bleu D’Avril a mare that was placed in a Listed Hurdle at 3 and achieved a rating over hurdles in France equivalent of 132 in the UK. Bleu D’Avril herself bred April Bleu who was placed in an Auteuil Listed Hurdle, and is also the dam of Blue Sari – who was second in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, and the very exciting Dino Blue

            Blue Bikini began her career in bumpers and showed some nice form. She then switched yards for her hurdling career, and was soon breaking her maiden tag in Plumpton over an inadequate 2m trip on only her second start after which Fergal thought her worthy of running in a Listed contest in Taunton last Christmas. She found the 2 mile trip, and the tight track against her there, but still ran with credit.

            After that run she suffered from a very bad respiratory problem that she struggled to shake off, and which kept her off the track for some time – only able to get one run in in May in Newton Abbot – again not the right track or trip, but options were limited.

            She now lives in one of the six outdoor stables at Ravenswell Farm, which has resulted in a real turnaround in her health and demeanour. She was gastroscoped in July, and was found to be almost clear of ulcers, but we have decided to repeat the regime we put her on last season that has obviously worked so well.

            She is from a very good family of stayers, and we knew that she was well handicapped over hurdles prior to her return in Taunton in February - but we didn't expect her to win over 2m3f on a tight track after all that she had been through in the autumn. The fact that she did bodes very well for the future, as she will be even better over even further on a galloping track, and even softer ground. Just one share remains - so don't delay!!   

            4% shares are Leased so there is no capital outlay

            Monthly fees are set at an all-inclusive £110 – (£25/wk).
